Immunohistochemical detection of TGF beta 1 in distal convoluted tubules in mouse kidney cortex. Tissue was fixed with 4% formaldehyde and cut into 12 μm thick cryostat sections. Tissue sections were incubated with rabbit polyclonal antibody to TGF beta 1 at 8 μg/mL overnight at 4°C followed by incubation with Donkey anti-rabbit Rhodamine Red conjugated secondary antibodies at 1:200 dilution. It is a potent stimulator of osteoblastic bone formation. Inactive TGFB1 is a homodimer consisting of a TGFB1 which is non-covalently linked to a latency-associated peptide (LAP), and the active form of TGFB1 is a homodimer of mature TGFB1 protein. |
